Emma and I had a very major milestone this morning!
I was in the office, checking my email and working on my first cup of coffee, and she came and jumped up on my lap for a little lovin, which she's been doing a lot lately, which is great---this is the cat who basically lived under our futon for the first week we had her, who had been living on the streets of Chicago, hiding under garbage bags.
She's never been a fan of being held, it seems to make her uneasy as she can't be "in control" when someone is holding her, but she was being so affectionate this morning I decided to give it a try. I picked her up very gently and held her in my arms like a baby, upside down, and scratched her little head.
She let me hold her for 5 whole minutes, and was purring up a storm! Eventually she got wiggly, so I put her down on the floor, and she jumped back up in my lap for more snuggles, and sat on my lap while I finished checking my email!!!
Hooray for Emma and Hooray for me!!
I'm such a proud meowmy! I feel like I must be doing something right!

How thrilling for you. I know how wonderful that feels.

Dear sweet Emma has found her loving forever home and you are blessed with her love.

What a beautiful start to your day - may it just get better and better.

Good for you, Emma!
Still trying to get there with Cassi.
She loves attention and scritches, hates being held, won't get on laps, unless you're lying prone in bed.

Those baby steps just make you feel so proud.
