I am looking to adopt an older Bengal thing is the two I am looking at are not "fixed" .... They would be before comeing home with me... How long between the operation and me taking them home should there be... One is about a year and the other is I think six months...

Depends on male/female. I'd get the male done first so there is no accidents.

I prefer males to be done about 8 months old, but you might want to do it at 6-7 months - males are neutered a lot quicker - a few hours and you should be able to take home same day.

The females get done about 6-7 months at the latest. They may require an overnite stay as its more major surgery. You also need to bring them back to the vet to remove stitches 10-14 days.

I have noticed with my neuters they always bounce back really fast. That being said I would probably give him about a week or so just to make sure everything is fine, before the stress of a new home.

Female I myself would say 3-4 weeks for healing time, if stitches need to be removed...ect

I would personally get a female then a male, as the males can take up to 6 weeks to stop producing sperm. I have had a foster that came to me straight from being neutered, I just put her in a quiet room by herself for a couple of days before being introduced to her new hyper roommate, and she was fine. She didn't even have to have a collar for her stitches.

The female will need at least a couple days to a week and the male should need at least a few days. The problem with having them both done at the same time is as another poster commented - the male will still be "fertile" for a period of time and at 6 or 7 months old will probably already be sexually mature or dern close to it enough to demonstrate mating behavior. If you bring the female in very soon post-surgery, she will need to defend herself against such behavior and it may be too strenous for her too soon.

Do these two cat already know each other and are they already acclimated to living together?

Do you know if the male has become sexually mature yet? Probably not but it can happen at six months. In that case you might want to be aware that if he is already spraying he might not stop after he is neutered. Most of the time they will but not all of the time.

you might want to ask the breeder and HOPE that they give you an honest answer. There's nothing worse then having a male cat spraying all over your house =0(~
