Four days ago I noticed Kirim was having trouble in her litter box. Thought it was a kidney problem since she had that back at the beginning of this year and took her to the vet.
They told me she had fecaloma and the pressure of the feces was not letting go comfortably in her litter box.
They did a CBC Lab, a complete Chemical Panel, IV fluids, penicilin inj, cimtidine inj, took x rays, gave her an enema, examine her feces and sent her home with cefa drops, laxatone and prescription diet Hills A/D.
Seems she was doing better and yesterday I took her back for a check up. The doctor took another xray and showed it to me. It was perfectly fine.
Well, now I have been up since 4 a.m., she keeps going to her box and does not urinate. She is eating fine, drinking water, she went #2 not much but she did, but every time she goes to her box and she had done so 7 times in a half hour, there is no sign of urine.
I feel like crying. We are waiting for a hurricane here in Florida (called Rita) and I am sure the vet's office will be closed today.
What could be wrong after the complete check up she had just three days ago and her visit to the vet yesterday?
I want to cry, I just don't know how to help her. Please help

Have you tried ringing the vet to see if their open?!.

Theres obviously something wrong not right if she's been to the litterbox 7 times and not been able to pass anything

Try giving the surgery a call and come back to us

Kirim is at her vet. She has accute cystitis and they are treating her for it. My poor baby was having a terrible time while trying to urinate, I knew she was suffering, I could see it in her eyes.
She has to stay overnight and she will come home tomorrow with a treatment that I need to follow and probably a change in her diet.
I am going to miss her a lot tonight, but at least, I know she is feeling better and being taken care of.
Thank you for your reply

When Loki was at the vets overnight a few months back I could not sleep. It was the loudest most deffening (sp?) quiet I have ever heard!!!!

Plenty of kisses to your baby !!

Vinny you did the best thing by taking the poor baby to the vet

She's in good hands now and tomorrow will soon be here so don't worry

Let us know what she's like when you bring her home

Kirim is back home, she is doing OK. She ate, drank a lot of water and has used her litter box for #2 and #1. She will be under medication for 6 more days, an antibiotic for the cystitis which I had to crushed and dilute with a little bit of water and she drank it this morning,
The only thing is that she has always been a very quiet cat and since she came back and according to my husband since I came home from work, she is after me meowing. As soon as I caress her and hold her, she stops. Do you guys think that this is due to the experience at the vet? Is she scared?
I know she is not in pain but I was not able to get too much sleep last night. I hope if goes away in a few days

She's obviously still feeling a little under the weather i would imagine?!

It's probably like us humans when we take any medication which usually takes a couple of days to get into our system properly. I know when Sophie was on meds for an upset tummy, her stools didn't look normal for 3-4 days after taking her meds

Just keep a close eye on her and give her lots of love and cuddles
