Hello! I'm new here and I have recently added a new member to my family!! He is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen (next to my daughter) But I need help finding out what breed he is... he looks Persian but dosen't have the flat face and is solid white!! Can anyone help... and he has a few matted spots on his belly.. he loves to have his belly rubbed but he don't want me brushing it!! Do they make some kind of detangeler for cats? Any ways I'd love to start taking some pics and sharing them cuz HE is a DIVA!! That's why I named him Sir Elton John!!! Thanks for listening!!

Welcome to TCS and congratulations on getting Sir Elton John in addition to your beautiful daughter! you might try finger-combing to coax those mats out, just take it nice & easy, and it may take a few days, but it's better than fighting about it. Also, I'm sure that you'll get some great ideas on what to do! A good slicker brush is a definite must - I've found that some cats prefer a fine-toothed people comb; I found a plastic comb that looked like it came from a RID head-lice kit, that I bleached & use with great success.
