I would think using a fine comb would help to get them out of the kitty's fur. You don't want her licking and eating them even if they are dead.

Flea combs are available at pet supply stores, though, I've never used one. That might work to get both dead and some of the live ones out.

I got a flea comb from Petco for only a few dollars. I think it worked really well. I got Marlee from a shelter a little over a week ago, and she still had her spaying stitches, therefore I couldn't bathe her to get rid of the fleas. So i gave her an Advantage treatment and used the flea comb. Just have a bowl of soapy water, and after every few strokes, dip the comb and rub off with a towel/paper, etc. Don't worry if it turns red when the water hit is, the flea dirt (poop) is old blood, which causes the redness! Good luck!

Flea combs do work the best. Yosemite is right, you wouldn't want her eating them. Ingesting fleas is how an animal can get tape worms.

Please do not use over the counter flea shampoo. You can use DAWN liquid dishwashing lotion and achieve the same result. Many of the over the counter products are dangerous, even toxic to cats, no matter what the label says.
Plus if she has just had topical flea treatment a bath will take most of that effectiveness away and you will be fighting fleas again. The flea comb should do nicely-
