I finally started to get excited by the Olympics. The torch arrived on Monday morning in southern Utah. It's going to travel throughout the state until Friday when it will arrive at the place for the opening ceremonies.
About two weeks ago, busloads and planeloads of athletes, visitors, and others have started to arrive. I've been watching since before Christmas how they started building everything. And last night, when I went home, the bus I was in past by one of the venues. People were rehearsing and they were playing real loudly the Olympic theme. It got me into the spirit. Now, I want to go, but the tickets are all sold out and they are very expensive. I want to go to the skiing, figure skating, opening, and closing ceremonies. I will have to watch from the tv. I will be out of school for two weeks. I will spend the morning job-hunting and the afternoons watching the events.
I wish I could bring my camera and take pictures, but I don't think they will let me. Hopefully, I will get some money and buy me a jacket, t-shirt, and postcards to send to everyone of you. After the events, SLC will also host the Paraolympics. So we won't be relaxing until late March. Oh well. I am really happy to be a part of this.
