So this morning, I woke up totally on the wrong side of the bed. I was cranky and overtired and hit the snooze button twice, which I NEVER do. I just totally neglected to shower before leaving for work (don't worry, I took one last night
) and huffed my little self out the door...not before snapping at Ian over teh fact that I had no time to come home between work at 8AM and the end of the staging rehearsal for the opera I'm in at 10:30PM. I blamed this on his roommates, who have the annoying habit of sleeping until noon. So, I huffed my little self to work.
I got to work and of course, the girls I nanny for both get into a fight and forget so much stuff that we run late to school. Their parents are the kind of people who if these girls say 'We were late to school', the parents will somehow assume that it was all my fault. So, there was that. But Ian called me to say that one of his roommates got up and left the apartment, so I could come back and practice in his room.
So, I started riding back. While I was riding back, the sky went from sunny to so dark that I thought it was night time and the wind came up really fast. Then, the sky opened up. When I was still about 5 blocks from Ian's place. Needless to say, I was drenched by the time I hit Halsted and Belmont (2.5 blocks from his place). To add insult to injury, I hit every single red light and almost got hit by some %^**& diring his kid to school. So, swearing up a storm, I dragged my dripping self up 3 flights of stairs to Ian's.
...which is where I discovered that I forgot to grab more than one bra. So, today, I will be wearing a wet bra. All day.
And, add this on to my already bleak situation (at this point, it's like 9:30AM). Ian and I write in this notebook to each other, or used to, and I picked it up for some reason and read his latest entry, which I hadn't read before. It was the sweetest and most romantic thing ever. So, I felt like a chump all morning, while wearing my wet bra, trying to practice quietly (heh, yeah, whatever) so as not to disturb anyone. I had the most viciosly unproductive practice session, before finally just giving up to frantically get ready for class.
Which is when Ian called me to tell me that class was cancelled and that he would take me out to lunch. So maybe all bad days don't go exclusively downhill....
