Hello there,

We've got a male (nutered) grey Bengal cat who overgrooms, however he only seems to do it in the autumn and across winter. Then he stops and all his hair grows back.

We are wondering if his coat thickening up for winter may be irritating his skin and what we can do about it?

Or are there any other thoughts.

Sounds like seasonal allergies. Is there anything that changes about his environment in the fall and winter? Perhaps he goes outside in the spring/summer, or you close up the house in the winter? Does he choose different sleeping spots when it gets colder? Look for anything that is different during these months - even something minor can be telling.

I had a dog that got skin allergies in the fall and winter. Turned out he spent more time laying on our wool rug in the living room. Once we got rid of the rug, his allergies cleared up.

My Loki also a Bengal has that problem - sound like allergies to me - might want to have your heating ducts cleaned before the season end - this could help!!! Might also add some omega to his food.
