My kitties are having a ball with our laser pointer/pen, but I'm wondering: If they get the light in their eyes by accident, will it hurt their eyes? You know how they use laser to do surgery in peoples eyes... Of course that's a lot stronger, but still; does this pen light still hurt them?

True they do say that you should avoid shining it directly in their eyes

It says right on the package and on the laser light...'caution'-can cause damage to eyes, avoid shining light in eyes"

Shining the laser in the cats eyes by accident for a split second wont hurt them. But for more time than that, yes, it will hurt their eyes!

Thank you all; I never saw the package mine came in, hubby got it for me and unwrapped it too. Mine does not have any warning directly on the pen, that's why I never knew. I appreciate your answers to this!
We decided right away when we got it, that this is only for the adults to use. It is kept away from our kids because we didn't know what kind of damage it could do if they got a hold of it and used it incorrectly. Now we realize it's a good rule to keep!
Thank's!

Well, our disappeared too, but I found it where I thought I had put it... Go figure! Sometimes I can't see, cause my eyes are in the way!

Anyway, my the kitten we got first just loooved that thing, but our second one had never seen it since it was "gone"... When I found it again yesterday, Jasmine IMMEDIATELY recognized it and ran like crazy right away, I mean INSTANT REACTION!
While little Senja needed some time to check it out first, then also running after it. Normally Senja is the crazy cat who can't resist anything moving, while Jasmine is calm and relaxed. Not with the laser light though!!!
