Hello,
I just recently adopted my kitten Marlee. Since I got her from a shelter, she was spayed before I picked her up. I noticed she had fleas the day I got her, so got some Advantage and used a flea comb to get as many fleas and flea dirt off as I could. I've been wanting to give her a bath ever since I got her, but am having to wait til the end of the week when she gets her stitches out. I was just looking for some tips! Right now she is pretty stinky b/c shes been having a little bit of diarrhea, and has a tendency to step in it while shes covering it up. I've been trying to use just warm water on a washcloth to get her feet cleaned up, but the stink is still there a little. I know its not her fault, poor baby. Once her stitches are out, is there any shampoos there are better to use, or should I just use warm water and a cloth like i've been doing? Also, will the Advantage keep working after being bathed, or will I need to redo her dose after the bath? Thanks, like I've said before, this site is a godsend!

Yes the Advantage will keep workingfor a month! You are doing fine with the bathing you have done. I don't have any recommendations for the shampoo because I don't bathe mine
I have used a waterless shampoo in the past and that worked great!

Okay, another similar question. Marlee is having major poopy stink right now! She is being treated for probable Coccidia at the moment. A few minutes ago she had a runny poop and somehow flipped it all over her back, and had it all over her back feet. She still has spaying stitches so I can't give her a complete bath, so I don't have any kitten shampoo yet. But just water isn't getting the smell off her. What can I use until the end of the week when I'll be able to give her a full bath?

Make up a warm (not hot) mixture of water and a bit of Dawn dishwashinh solution (not too much Dawn) and use a soft cloth and gently clean her dirty bits. This should help. Try to rinse well too.

You could try baby wipes, too. I've used them to wipe off his foot when he stepped in poo once and it worked just fine. (They're made for baby butts, so it would make sense that they'd work!) I use them to wipe his face/ears/clean out sleepies, etc., so they're always around anyway. I got a warmer for them, but I've found that if you squeeze out the excess water and hold it in your hand for a minute or so, they warm up too.
