Hello all....
we recently acquired a stray cat who had been hanging around our house this past summer. He's a reall little loverboy!
We've had him neutered and got all of his tests/shots up to date. Now, however, is the biggest problem: He knows our neighborhood and he REALLY wants to get out!

Is this something that will pass as he gets more used to being an indoor baby? I'm so worried about him escaping. We got a cat harness/leash so that we could have him in the backyard for short outdoor visits...hoping to satisfy his craving...but it's hard going from a mouser to a milk-licker, you know?
We've had cats for 15 years and this is the first time we've had to deal with one so desperately wanting to get out. Our other male cat (deceased back in March) never acted this way...and he started out as a stray too, although he was much younger when we found him.
Anyone know any secrets, or if he'll outgrow this? Thanks in advance!
