when we're getting sick of the snow and start dreaming of Spring Planting and stuff. you begin to sotice guys standing amongst the fishing tackle or poking around the new power lawn mowers, etc.

The seed catalogs are starting to come out and the fantasy gardens are beginning to take shape. Dahlias and lilies and rosebushes are blooming in everybody's minds.

I think I'll just plant a couple shrubs this year since I don't know things will turn out with mom. Maybe transplant a few trees. I have lots of seedlings growing wild out back..some tamaracks, pines, cedars, maples. Maybe I'll even put in some mf trees this year.

Anyone else dreaming of green?

I am dreaming of my pool..I miss laying there in the hot sun! I dont have much of a green thumb, so I dont plant much, just pansies and some stuff like that. What's up with your mom? Is she sick? Hope Not!

Can't wait for that nice warm breeze caressing my face. Or the feel of that gentle spring rain falling. Of flowers blossoming.

Wow, sure do miss the season's it was 55 degrees this morning, but it's up to about 80 now...

Oh well, I could be stuck in the South Pole...then I'd really have something to snivel about...

:daisy:Some of the bulbs I planted on my balcony (I miss having a yard!) are coming up already...dwarf Iris are about 4" high!
I also put in Daffodils (of course), Tulps, Crocus, Crocosmia, Dahlias, Freesias, and some other stuff I can't even remember!

Sounds crowded I know, but I planned ahead and planted them so they bloom at different times, and at different heights...so if all goes well, I should have blooms all spring and summer!

Oh how I long to live somewhere with seasons! Here it's Hot in the Spring, Summer and Fall and then winter is warm/cool with an occassional cold front that might make the temps in the 30's or 40's for a day or two. Did I mention the humidity? God All Mighty that makes it even worse here. You actually feel like you are walking in a wet sauna in the summer. There is nothing more miserable than a Houston Summer (to me that is). Thank God for the parking garage here at work.

In the meantime, it's snowing here in Dallas. Been snowing all day. It's the first time I've felt like I'm having a "real" winter in about 10 years!

I'm not looking forward to heat, but I sure wouldn't mind a little sun and flowers . . .

Sunlion I am so jealous!!!!! You are not more than 3 1/2 hours north of me and you all always seem to get the fun winter weather. They weathermen here say it's because there is this "line" between Houston and Dallas that keeps the fronts from affecting us the way it does you, plus us being right on the gulf.
