Our governor Mitt Romney just called tis a health crisis in massachusetts......

Babies and elderly people have already died....Plus a 20 year old in NH (i think) This is getting out of control....so i hope you all are protecting yourself from these annoying predetors.....

But my real question is........ Can cats or Dogs be effected by these diseases???
I mean my parents walk Libby in a high grass area and with this hurrcane about to brush us...that park can become swAmpy quick.....

I just wouldnt want anything to happen to her.....

I don't know the answer to your question, but the 20 year old was definitely in NH. I don't think she was very far over the state line though.

No need to worry, in mississippi the state with the most known cases there was still a 2 in 100,000 people infected. Unless you are 65+ or under the age of 15 there isnt a real need to worry. Also Less than 1% of people that get infected get severly sick, only 20% of people get flu like symtoms that only last 3-15 days and the rest dont have a reaction.

I believed that to be true to...Untill a 20 year old died in NH...also...you and I may not be under 15 or over 65.....some of our children are...some of our parents are...friends, grandparents.....to sayyy it like that is kinda insensitive...

and I also understand the 2 in 100,000....but if you have seen the news 3 people have died just this week....and the first frost is a little while off............

When I went to GA last summer, I came home with a nasty, nasty cold. So bad, and so fast, and so many bug bites, that I thought perhaps I had WNV. So I went to the Dr...it wasn't WNV, but he was pleased I thought about it and came in. He says most people don't get treatment early because they think it's just a bad cold or the 'flu. And we had it out here last year...dunno about this year, though.

I don't think it's a panickable issue, though. Even though I was worried, I also knew it wasn't too likely that I had it.

Best-
Michele
