So i found my cat in a back yard about a year ago,he could sit in my hand with room to spare.I bottle fed him and everything. But now i've noticed that hes doing something hes never done before. Usually he follows me all over the place and flops down beside my feet until i move. Except now he is totally afraid of my bedroom when he goes in he becomes jumpy and sciddish. what could be the problem and how can i help him ?

Is there something in there that might be making a loud noise? An air-conditioner?Ceiling fan?
Was he in the room recently when you were vacuuming? Most cats are scared of vacuum cleaners--mine will run away from ours even if its not on.
My Emma is petrified of ceiling fans, and wont be in the room if one is on with the light on.
Could there possibly be another cat he's seeing out the window? If another cat marked the bushes or a tree right outside the bedroom, and a window is open, he could possibly smell it.

those are my only thoughts..good luck!

It seems that something in there has really scared him - I would do some thorough investigating - check for new smells, anything that has moved out of a spot that it would normally be in - do you have any other cats or animals? Do you have a partner who might have accidentally stepped on his tail or foot in there - or did you? There are any number of things that could have freaked him out.

To help him you need to slowly reintroduce him to that room. Take a little blanket and rub it over him so it has his scent, and then take him into the room and put him on it - on the floor, the bed, it doesn't matter. Then leave the blanket in there. When you next take him in there, stay in there with him. Put him on his blanket and distract him with some toys and playing. Feed him in there. If you don't mind doing it, have him sleep in there with you at night. Hopefully he will soon readjust and whatever it was that scared him will no longer seem a threat.
