I was cleaning the litter box today, and she came in, squatted on a notebook that was on the floor, and peed. I was about to holler at her, when I saw it running out from underneath her....reddish pink colored. Crap! I called the vet and they could fit me in today, so we went. He said he could feel a definite thickening of the bladder, and coupled with the blood that I saw, it's a bladder infection. He gave her two shots, one of Banamine/Flumeglumine (isn't that a pain reliever?), and one of Baytril. And I have a bottle of Clavamox drops to give her by mouth (should be fun!). Prices have gone up though
Bound to happen sometime, they haven't raised prices there in years. Office call went form $18 to $21. I think the shots are the same, they were $12 each, and the Clavamox was $15. Add the dogs' Interceptor that they were due for, and I walked out $81 poorer!
I'll start the drops tomorrow, since she got a shot there. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary in the litter box, but it's hard to tell with the litter being kinda dark when it's wet anyways. Guess I'm gonna have to start following her to the box with a cup to see if she's getting better! It's kinda like deja-vu, I just went through this with my dog last month!
