Totally agree with you on that ^^^ Sometimes Ill even ignore my fear, cuz I hate the feeling of being afraid more than I hate the thing Im fearing at the time. LOL if that makes any sense

As a child I was afraid of Indians, ya know - with bows and arrows. But not anymore.

Im not afraid of Spiders, but I am afraid of junebugs - dunno why.
Not afraid of death itself, but I am afraid of losing a sense. (like sight or hearing)
Not afraid of heights, but I am afraid of falling from very high places. (I think its just the fact that you get time to think about whats happening before you actually hit the ground)

This may sound weird, but Im very very afraid of police officers and police vehicles. Seriously, almost to the point of fainting. Even if Im doing absolutely nothing wrong, I get a pain in my elbows
, my legs feel weak, and my chest feels like its going to explode whenever I see a cop. My head even feels all cloudy, like Im high or dunk. I feel like I could just die of relief when they are out of sight.
One time at the age of 17, my friend got pulled over, and I was even in the back seat. I was scared enough that I started shaking so hard (bordering on violently) that the cops asked me to get out of the car to check for drugs on me and to give me a sobriety test. Of course they didnt find anything, and I was completely sober, but I was sooo embarrassed and scared.

Im so afraid of the pain of giving birth that Im considering getting my tubes tied, and adopting a kid instead, if Im ever ready to have one.

Another irrational one is having my teeth crumble out of my head. I have this recurring dream that all my teeth crumble into pieces one by one into my mouth all within a day (in my dream that is) and it feels SOOO real that as soon as I wake up I check to make sure all my teeth are there........ I think its cuz I chipped my tooth one time, and bit down on the chip that broke off.
Its one of those willy nilly feelings, to bite down on a piece of your own tooth.
I dont even like to eat anything particularly hard and crunchy: anything beyond chips and crackers is a big no no. Even those hard burnt chips that you get in the occasional handful find their way to the trash.

They scare the bejesus out of me. I hate them and I think they should be banned from small children's parties and circuses all together.

After I figured out that they were big and ugly, but slower moving, I didnt have any problem with them.

OMG I forgot! My hubby is 6'6", 240 lbs, and wears a size 17 shoe, no joke... but Hes afraid of heights (go figure... the tallest guy I know and he's prolly afraid of his own height! lol)

he is afraid of spiders and beetles...nothin special there .

And, among the most unusual of fears, hes afraid of JEWELRY. Yeah, Im not allowed to wear any kind of jewelry around him, Not even little tiny studs for earrings. If I do, he wont talk to me. Yep the good ol' silent treatment.
I should wear jewelry more often!!!

I have this dream ALL the time--I used to think it was because Ive had such problems with my teeth (years of braces, two root canals, and a dental implant that required grafting bone from one part of my jaw to another) but I told a friend of mine once about it who's a psychologist, or at least will be in another 3 months, and she said its a classic anxiety dream and is similar to the ones where you are naked in a public place, go to take a test and haven't studied, or the dream where you're falling and hit the ground just as you wake up. Its symptomatic of either generalized anxiety or anxiety about a specific situation in your life and is a good sign that you should stop and think for a bit about what's going on in your life and what might be making you anxious, even if you dont realize it.

Having grown up in Florida, I can verify that palmetto bugs are indeed the nastiest creature ever created. They're cockroaches, they're huge, and OH YEAH, THEY CAN FLY!!! Too gross. The first time my husband saw one he pretty much screamed like a little girl because he went to hit it and it came flying up at him!

Ive heard that, and that it means that you have an insecurity (whether it be your teeth or anything else) or that you have low self confidence/low self esteem.

I can't believe that I forgot to put clowns on my list. Seriously. Creepy.

I run into them less often than spiders, though.

OMG I really don't mean to laugh, but in my head I'm seeing a ski mask on your head too!! I don't blame you though. While I'm not really afraid of hotel sheets I am a little wary of them, especially the comforter they always have on the beds!

I have a fear of snakes. And water terrifies me! I am okay in a pool or a hot tub or the bath tub...but the thought of climbing into a river/lake/pond/ocean just makes my skin crawl...you never know whats out there!

And for Autumnhaze and Ollyextra05: the dreams you are having about your teeth represent your speech/words. If teeth are falling out than you have been having loose speech, speaking without thinking, maybe gossiping. If you are spitting your teeth out, that represents your need to say something. This dream is pretty common...its right up there with dreams about falling. I just thought I would tell you from an analysts point of view. Sometimes, it can have a literal representation of dental conditions and procedures, in addition to your physical and social appearances.

I am petrified of needles as well, and I told them "There's no way in HELL you're sticking a needle in my back!" I went through labor (all 7 1/2 hours of it, LOL) natural. They did force me to get an IV, and had some stuff there that they could inject in the IV if I needed it. But they said it would take a half hour to take effect. The part that *really* hurt lasted less than a half hour, so it wouldn't have been worth it. I don't regret it. I wanted drugs to get me through AFTER the baby was born, not hte actual birth! That was some pain, extensive superficial tears and lots of bruising. Yeah, then I wanted drugs!
If I had another kid (which won't happen unless BC fails) I'd do it the same way, but at a birthing center rather than a hospital that tells you one thing and does another.
