I have a 14 week old kitten that I am fostering. She had to be seperated from her siblings about 4 weeks ago (due to some health issues). Now that she is all better, her sibilings have been adopted and she is still alone.

Her behavior during that time has gotten worse. Basically, play aggression and I understand that she is lonely and wants attention but I want to correct the behavior ASAP. Mostly hand bitting when we play.

I have bought her a bunch of toys, I play with her using toys on ropes or sticks and doing the "NO" thing everytime she bites. Any other suggestions, she doesn't seem to get it.

Anyone know how to entertain a lonely kitten and how to stop the bitting? She's really sweet most of the time and I don't want people not to adopt her because she bites!

Thanks!

I don't understand...how are your hands getting bitten if you're playing with toys on strings and sticks? It sounds like you're doing everything right, there's just that little discrepancy in what you wrote. Just keep doing what you're doing and don't give the kitten the opportunity to bite. It takes a long time to unlearn that behavior. I adopted a biter and it took several months for him to learn.

Try giving her a plastic straw to play with...she is still young & could be teething. Straws are great fun & harmless...also inexpensive...I buy them by the dozens
