Here is a little biography for ya!
I am not a breeder or anything, but I love cats, and have had many over the years. I don't want to get into the indoor/outdoor controversy, but we do have 30%out/70% in. We have 2 cat doors, which allow easy access etc. I hope this is not going to be an "issue" here?

We live on an island for 3 mos out of the year..a family owned place. So the girls (3) go out there. Most of the time they are with us however. They do like to hike with us...we call it walkey walk.
I'll put my website up here --it has lots of pics of my cats, on pages 2 and 4.
it is not commercial at all.

Some of you may recognize me? I volunteer at two other forums, so if you do...hi to you!
When were were married eons ago (1968) our 3 marriage cats seemed to have endless problems. They lived long, but one died of organ failure, one had a spinal stroke at 19 and one lovely very affectionate marmalade/ white died of thyroid cancer. They had urinary problems, diarrhea, lots of minor ills.
Our new kitties we put on IAMs Eukanuba and the vet bills have totally been a non issue. So I am very big on diet. For people too. I am a pharmacist and specialize in nutrient support..for your quality of life. Anyone who wants to email me can reach me at

Our oldest cat is 15 and now has arthritis, tho, and is being monitored by the vet. She has this FHS...which I learned about 2 days ago.. no vet has given this odd thing name for us. That is how I found this site as a matter of fact.
This is not disabling, but really I feel for her, when she is aggravated. I posted about that on the Health forum here.
My son and his roommate have just adopted(actually RESCUED) two cats, one kitten, one
surgical recovering, young adult female. So we have issues with those. I hope to help them with this forum. I will donate too, and funnel questions from them. They are a bit strapped right now, with the vet $$ and kittie accessories

Newly graduated from college, new jobs, yada yada.
One thing I want to look around about is the controversy about vaccination sarcoma..and also its related unfortunate thing...inactive vaccines! I have consulted many vets on this and get very different answers --even from a cousin who is a vet! So I will look around more on this...in the future. A friend's indoor cat, died of this...it was gruesome to say the least.
So anyway... I love looking at all the pictures, and the enthusiasm here.
I can't imagine living without a cat... and it appears I am certainly NOT alone!
LOL
Thanks for the warm welcome.
Love,
ShrimpLover (my eldest is a shrimpoholic--hence the name).
