I know our kits can't get things like the common cold and pink eye from us, but I'm just curious if there's anything we CAN transfer to them (or them to us for that matter).... I've had a nasty cold since Friday and it just got me thinking about it.... my poor kitty doesn't understand or like all the sounds mommy is making while being sick (coughing, sneezing, nose blowing, snoring...) haha, poor Oliver will be sleeping on me and I'll cough or sneeze and he hits the ceiling then looks at me like "Moooommmmmm, what the heck?! I was sleeping!"At least he makes me feel better even when none of the meds work!

PS: would the answer to the question of transferring things between humans and our kitties be different for an FIV+ cat?

Ringworm is the one I can think of right off the top of my head. Humans can get some of the intestinal parasites, but I'm pretty sure they all have to go through intermediate hosts, first. You might try googling on the term "zoonotic" -- that means diseases that are transmissable between humans and animals.

I can't prove it, but I would swear that I've gotten kennel cough from a dog. I'm not sure if his condition would make a difference. Is there a way you could find out online (like a webmd for pets)?
