Awww! I agree with just focusing on the positive end in sight! My boss had one for the same reason and it really helped her! (She got much nicer!

Awww Susie.
I know you're scared, but just think, you'll be pain free after you heal from the surgery. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts, and am sending lots of comfort vibes your way.

I had the same problems that you are having.
I had the surgery with my overies left in...30 years ago.
It got rid of the pain.

I will keep you in my prayers.

Good luck with everything, Susie. Several women in my family as well as family friends have had hysterectomies and everyone of them have been a positive outcome.
Be sure to milk it for all its worth, though, and make Jerry wait on you hand and foot! Maybe, if you really suffer for awhile, he'll even buy you some jewelry

Juust kidding...

Remember that we are all here for you
and you'll be inundated with goodies to help you recover!

Heck girl, I was up and cranking up my bed within 24 hours.

I had a rich lawyer's wife in the bed across from me that moaned and groaned and complained and kept calling the nurses. I finally got fed up with her and told her the nurses were really busy and that I would go get her her juice of whatever and she would feel better soon. She got all b**chy on me and said "What do you know, you didn't have a hysterectomy!". I told her that yes, actually I did have one yesterday. She was flabbergasted that I was up and about so soon and finally stopped complaining.

So just remember the first 24 hours you'll feel sore but you'll be great before you know it. You might want to make sure you don't see or hear anything funny because I have to tell you - it hurts to laugh. My husband came to see me at the hospital and we were watching something on TV that struck me funny. I'm a giggler and when I start I have a hard time stopping and when I start it's so infectious my husband starts laughing too. He had to leave my hospital room and go out in the hall so we wouldn't see each other and start laughing all over again.

I was lucky Linda, had a private room! Don't know about you, but they made me get up and about as soon as I was over the anesthetic, which is the best thing you can do, lol! I wasn't too spiffy for about three weeks though, but that was due to the blood loss from the fibroids that they took out, not the surgery itself. Still wish I'd had it done years ago!

Not something to look forward to, but just keep in mind how much better things will be after you've fully recovered. Will be thinking of you, and sending lots of vibes across the ocean in January!

Thanks everybody. I told Jerry during my recoop time, I'm having a TCS get together here at the house. I'll supply all the kittylitter and chocolate. Who has sleeping bags they can bring?

Pat, I will definitely suggest to him a laporoscopic one. But, if he has to go in and zap all my lesions, I don't know that it can be done. I sure hope it can!

Karen, Tiggy had a crush on Sophie, but Auntie Susan said she is too young for him. Tig wants to know if he can share his sleeping blankie with Abby?

Hey that's why the lawyer's wife was complaining - she wanted a private room and there were none available. I told her I had asked for a private room (I have private room hospital coverage) already so I would get the first one available.
When the doctor came in to see her she was so awful - she said "Do you know who my husband is? He's one of Toronto's well-known lawyers"! Doc wasn't impressed and neither were any of the rest of us.
