Just got back from the gyno. Well, my hysterectomy is set for the middle of January. Jerry and I have an appt with him on Dec 13 to go in and set it up, discuss anything about it with him, ask questions, etc. If it helps even halfway with my endometreosis pain, then I'll be thrilled, but oh my, me, the biggest chicken I know, having an operation, a hospital stay, needles, etc!! LOL Please send lots of good vibes, (flowers, chocolates and gifts would be appreciated too)

Aw susie I'm sorry you're having so much trouble and I'm even more sorry that the hysterectomy is the only way to save you from the pain
But here's hoping the surgery goes well and that you get all thechocolate your little heart deserves!

Try not to dwell on the actual procedure, but just keep telling yourself how much better you'll feel once you recover!

I'll be thinking of you !

Sorry, the title of this thread sort of cracked me up! Only among friends and family, eh?

Seriously, though, I'm glad that there is something available to you that will help with your endometriosis. Sending some (early) good luck/health vibes with many more to follow in the coming months!

You know what I love about you Susie?? Your upbeat and positive attitude no matter how tough the going gets! You will be fine thru the surgery and you can imagine how much money you will save on not having to buy feminine hygiene products after the surgery! Oh yeah!!! You can use that extra money to spoil the already spoiled furkids you have!

Take good care of yourself girly!

I had to have a hysterectomy when Jennifer was 3 yrs. old (I was mid-thirties) and I can honestly tell you it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Finally no pain after years of 3 weeks of pain per month. No messy periods. The freedom was and is awesome. Unfortunately it hasn't stopped me from experiencing the hot flashes (power surges as I call them).

Piece of cake - you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner!

Well, now you know an end to the pain is in sight. You will do fine! Ask if it is an option to have this done laparoscopically (sure I mangled that spelling!), it would give you tiny incisions to deal with instead of one larger, and you'd be able to go home sooner.

My mom was able to have hers done this way when she had to have a hysterectomy due to uterine cancer over 10 years ago.

Movin' on up!
I had mine, at 32 and, if I knew then, what I know now, I'd have had it when I was 16. No more cramps, backaches and monthly mess!

Seriously, my only complication was being allergic to morphine (I'd never had it before). Try throwing up, while scratching your entire body, at the same time. That and they tried to starve me to death. One of my friends saved my life,by bringing me Cadbury bars.

You'll do fine. I presume that you're fairly young and in generally good health. Look at our female cats - up and getting around fine, within hours of theirs
