That is what is so frustrating...
I got through to the 2nd round at a job at this bank in the City, then I had to do psychometric testing
I passed the tests okay, but the personality testing did not fit what that company was after.... 5 of us did the testing and all 5 of us failed with our personality....!!!!

I might meet him again and decide that I don't think I can work with him or something

Thanks everyone
I shall try and keep busy today so that I don't keep thinking about later this afternoon (5pm)....

Any ideas on what we should talk about or should I just go with the flow?

How exciting!! Good luck Gilly, will be keeping fingers crossed for you

Just don't spend half an hour talking about Guin, he may think you're nuts! Talk about him, everyone loves talking about themselves, but don't forget to drop into conversation how wonderful you are

Oh Gilly, this is great!
I'm sure you'll do brilliantly!

I think you should go with the flow as far as conversation - if you get along well, you'll be able to chat well!

I'll send super calming }}}VIBES{{{ down to you at five!

Good Luck, but I'm sure you don't need it!

Yay Jerry! Well we didn't go to Starbucks, we just had an informal chat in his office... over a pot of tea!

Ahhhhhhhhh I dunno how it went yet but I felt very positive when I left. Some of the questions I was asked were really difficult... For example:

If I hired you and in 3 months time someone asked me how you were doing what do you think I would say?

If I hired you and in 3 months time I had issues and had to fire you why do you think that would be?

Glad I had extra strong deodorant on cos I was made to sweat!!!
The only issue that I had and he had is that I have hardly any minute taking experience (no big deal) but part of the job would be taking minutes in management meetings and stuff. I wouldn't mind learning though, it's just it never came up in past jobs....

Anyway, thanks everyone for your best wishes - what will be will be, but I hope to hear something tomorrow at least

Oh yeah... the bus bomb a few months back happened directly right outside the offices that I went to... There were still flowers in the square opposite. This director that interviewed me said that he is on the London Bombings counsel etc... I really thought that I would get upset/feel weird being at a place that I saw on the news so much but thankfully, I felt fine

Just had to come and see how your interview went! I was sending lots of vibes at five!

Gosh he certainly asked you some difficult questions!
Slightly surreal questions at that!

Minute taking isn't too difficult to learn - you just have to make sure that the layout and points are right! I can always offer some tips if you would like!

Oooh, I do hope you hear from them today!

Don't you just hate interview questions like that! There's just never a 'right' answer to the sacking question, and no matter what you say you're going to be putting yourself down. He must have been reading some Effective Interviewing Techniques books!

If you felt positive then that's a good sign, will be keeping fingers crossed for you!

Well..........................................

I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!

I heard about 30 mins ago!!! I am really happy. I really wanted this job from the first time I went there for my 1st interview. It's more money that what I was earning before, plus you get an extra allowance to pay for gym membership / travel / or you can buy extra holiday days!!!!!

I am trying to negotiate starting a week on Monday (they wanted me to start this Monday) but I am desperate for a break when I don't have to think about looking for another job or having interviews etc....

Ahhhh I jumped about my flat going bananas! I have myself to thank - my own credit and my own determination made me get through the past 3 interviews they gave me!

Thanks everyone here for all you vibes and listening to me over the past few months going on about my job hunt!!! Thanks to Guinness for being my little lucky cat

It's a global property company - construction, real estate, infrastructure etc. They are involved in construction of Heathrow T5, highways, aviation and loads of other stuff. Not an industry that I have worked in before but it certainly looks exciting. They have worldwide offices, with over 2,500 employees. I will be the Personal Assistant to the Chief Finance guy

Ooo I work for a construction company too, and I find it quite fascinating (albeit on a much, much, smaller scale than your company!).

Chief Finance Guy, is that his official title?
