I won't lie..it was very hard on my body..but that was also 7 years ago and they make them to be kinder to your body now. I was dizzy and I vomitted a few times when I was on it..but the good news..it turned me off of smoking.

Did your read the book from Allan Carr (sorry, I have the german title only) "Carr´s Easyway - Endlich Nichtraucher". Maybe "Finally Non-Smoker". This little book is very helpful.

I don't smoke, nor will I ever. But when my grandpa was told to quit by his doctors (he ahd been smoking for 60 some odd years), anyway, the doctors told him to get addicted to something else, gave him a list of things that he should try. So now he is addicted to Scotch Mints instead. Much cheaper too ;P

I don't smoke, either, but Joe does. He wants to quit and I wouldn't complain if he did. I'll be watching this thread with interest for suggestions, too!

cold turkey is the best they taught us in health class. Writing it on a calender so you have an exact date. Save the money you would use for cigs to do something you really want, like a trip somewhere. and if you "break" and have one dont give up just start again. also, keep your hands busy

I looked it up in my german/english dictonary, endlich means final and nichtraucher means not smoker.

The Alan Carr book is 'The Easy Way to Stop Smoking Permanently' and it is very good if you want to quit. I read it, and it worked for about a week, but I didn't really want to stop at the time so it was my own fault! He also does seminars that I believe are very good.

I keep thinking about quitting, and I've bought a dvd from Paul MacKenna (hypnotist). Will let you know if it's any good. Have also toyed with the idea of going to see a hypnotist, there's often adverts in the paper saying they can make you quit in one session for about £40, with free back up sessions if necessary - might be worth a try.

I think that a lot of people get hung up on 'staying quit.' So If they quit and don't smoke for 3 days, a month, or a year, whatever, and for some reason feel a sudden urge to smoke and they do they instantly think that the failed and just continue to smoke. The important thing to remember is that you are not perfect, and relapsing and smoking a half a cigarette or a whole cigarette or even a pack of cigarettes does NOT mean that you failed and should give up. Just keep going like you never did smoke it.

I quit for over a year once and went through some troubling times and returned to cigarettes. After the time passed I just continued to smoke because I failed and started another quit date and the same thing happened.

I am smoking, but not in my flat or car. It helps me to reduce the consumption of cigarretes. And, I don´t buy boxes, my cigarettes are "handmade". This will safe a lot of money. Here we have to pay, if they are in boxes, 25 pieces 4,90 €, I think it is 4,95 US $.

Think of all the money you'll save!
My roommate's mother quit smoking (she used gum and became addicted to it and use patches to get her off the gum) and kept the money that she would have spent on cigarettes in a saving's account and used it to go to Hawaii about 6 years ago!

Hey Mickey! You've been around all night and that's a little long
You think you've got the right but I think you've got it wrong
Why can't you say goodnight so you can take me home, Mickey
'Cause when you say you will, it always means you won't
You're givin' me the chills, baby, please baby don't
Every night you still leave me all alone, Mickey
Oh Mickey, what a pity you don't understand
You take me by the heart when you take me by the hand
Oh Mickey, you're so pretty, can't you understand
It's guys like you Mickey
Oh, what you do Mickey, do Mickey
Don't break my heart, Mickey
Hey Mickey!

have you seen the nicorette gums? i would try them out if i were a smoker and wanted to quit.
But becuase of your medications i would first consult with your doctor, i am sure he has also alot of remidies to help you and may have other alternatives that we dont even know about!!
