If you had to evacuate your home, do you have someplace to go? If so, where? Would you go to a shelter? (yes, the shelter will allow pets)

If we had to go, it would probably be to Joe's parents' in NY. I'm figuring that if we had to evacuate, so would most of my family, who live relatively close. So, that would leave out going to stay with them.

If it was just my apartment for whatever reason, I would go to my parents...although they live in the same city. IF we needed to leave the city, I have a few choices. We have a farm that is 100 or so miles away. I could also go stay with family in St. Louis and North Carolina. I'm pretty lucky though my family is really close so I have that safety net.

Since we live on the coast, evacuation is a very real reality. We'd probably go up to The Land (land that Bradley's family owns in Burke County, GA; they have a huge bunkhouse that the cats could run around in and a generator) or to my best friend's house in Macon (She'd LOVE for her godkitties to come visit).
If neither place were an option for whatever reason, we'd stay with friends in Atlanta.

Well, if my parents (66 miles away) didn't have to evacuate I'd go stay with them. If we all had to evacuate my family would pack the cars up and we would book a hotel (that takes animals) in one of the surrounding states. If those were all booked (which they were when Hurricane Floyd threatened us, even though we didn't get hit by it) we'd probably drive to my mom's friend's in Pennsylvania.

I have family around here that I could go to, but as far as evacuating the whole area, like a 100 miles radius, I don't know that I would have anywhere at all to stay. I do have out of town family but they aren't the "come stay with me" type as we aren't very close. I would probably get a hotel or something or live in my car.

I guess if we had to evacuate it would be due to forest fire. We could drive to our family's place in SW Ontario, but that would take 2 days by car. I'd probably just go to a hotel that was closer.

Assuming you are talking about flooding...I thought maybe the high school gym, but now that i think about it, the entrance is ground level, but the actual gym is underground, so that wouldnt work... we would probably have to go to the Ford Center downtown. Or the other H.S.'s theatre auditorium.

If it was something like a tornado, we wouldnt leave, most homes are built with storm shelters underground. Although we would probably, like every other dumba$$ stand out in our driveway and videotape it
(like we have done in the past)

If it's just my town, then mom's or my sister's. If it was the whole area then I'd either stay at a hotel or go to a friend's house. Though north Jersey doesn't tend to need to be evacuated (sp??)

We would go to my roommate's sister's house because she has cats (and horses, woo!) and his parents have birds that are out in the house all the time, so we couldn't go there. If I had to evacuate for a long time like the poor people on the Gulf coast
I would go to my parents' in Indiana.

All I know is that we would head north on I-95! There is no way I will go to a shelter!
Also my best friend from hi-school lives in PA-it would be a good excuse to go back home.

Appropriate day for this question, Susie! If absolutely necessary, I could go to stay with my parents. We could also go to hotel where the area is safer than whatever's going on causing us to need to evacuate. Yes, we do have shelters available, however none allow kitties. This rules out this option completely. If they did allow my girls, though, yes, I would consider going to a shelter.
