Hi

Got our kitten Olivia who is about 8 or 9 weeks old now

Anyway, she eats a couple of mouthfuls of her kitten Whiskas before making a beeline for the adults food on the other side of the room

Her motions have been fine so is there any real danger from her eating the adult whiskas?, Obviously we keep trying putting her back to the kitten food side of the room but she is determined to get to the adult food.

The stupid thing is that the adults want the kitten food ahead of their own as well so we have 2 sets of cats criss crossing the room trying to get each other's food !

Been there with my two as well Mark!, only Sophie was about 9-10 months old when she started going for Rosies adult food, but then i had the added problem like you of Rosie going for Sophies kitten kibbles

I just kept an eye on them, and as soon as i saw one of them sneek across to the other ones bowl i'd pick it up.

I have this problem with Prego and Polly (5 months). Prego eats lite adult, so I worry that Polly won't get enough calories and nutrients eating Prego's food. I just watch them both carefully while they're eating and try to move each cat back to his/her appropriate bowl.

I guess i'm just going to have to do some serious supervision!

She's got no sense of respect this little one, she just head butts the adult cats out of their bowls and sticks her face in

Has Olivia came from the same litter as Sophie?
She does exactly the same, butts in on Rosies food before she's finished her own, eats Rosies, then goes back and finishes hers off!
I have to sit and watch her now.

Polly does that too. And Prego is so sweet all he does is look up at me with a look that says "help" :-)

I think kittens want to be just like the big cat, eat the same food, sleep in the same places, etc. At least that's how it seems with my two.

My vet said Polly could eat Prego's lite food when she turns one. I think I'll wait and see how big she is then because right now she's a little skinny.
