I work at the newspaper and today there was an advertisement for blue eyed mixed kittens. Do kittens with blue eyes often change eye color with age? For some reason I've always thought they did....

I've heard that kittens eyes change to their permanent colour at about 5 weeks or so. Serena has blue eyes, and she turned 1 yr in May. Her eyes will definately stay blue. But, as far as I know, kittens should have their permanent eye colour after 4 or 5 weeks.

I picked Diddo up at 8 weeks with grey eyes and four weeks later, her eyes were golden.

Unless the kittens are part Siamese or have the pointed gene, the blue eyes won't last after about 2 months. If the kittens still have blue eyes after 2 months old, they will retain them.

I'd ask the person how old the kittens are now.

Eye color begins to change at between 9-10 weeks - not 4-5.
