We have had our new kitty for about 10 days... I fed her chicken that I cooked and also turkey...minced up and mixed with baby food... things were fine, but now I have switched to Friskies in a can and she has diarhea...she was also very good about using her litter box, and now she has pooped on the floor several times in the last 2 days.... Help!!!

You should not switch your cat's food suddenly. It will cause diarrhea and stomach upset. Do the changeover gradually and go to IAMS kitten food, not Friskies depending on the age of the kitten. Make sure she stays hydrated, if you pinch her neck gently and her skin stays tented up get her to the vet NOW! If it folds down within seconds that is a good sign. Add some pedialyte to her water dish

Hi, you need to make any change a very gradual one, and as Hissy said, be sure the kitten is not getting dehydrated. I am not, however, a fan of Iams brand kitten or cat foods, there are much better options out there!

Consider a "for all lifestages brand" which includes Felidae, or kitten formula by Nutro Natural Choice Complete Care...for a less expensive but very solid food, consider Petsmart's own brand - Authority (I am currently using their kitten formula with my stray "teen")

It also never hurts unless you are positive she is clear of all parasites, to take a stool sample in (even if it's of the diarhea) to the vets for them to check.
