They are shooting dogs and banning rescue workers from going it! Shelters are full and animals are coated in toxic waste.

BUT there are angels who are going in anyway! Here is from another board;:::::::::::::

**TUESDAY'S PLEDGE**
1000 CALLS TO THE WHITE HOUSE, TUESDAY 9/13/05

I was told by someone in Homeland Security yesterday, that believe it or not, the way to get this solved is to have 1000 people call the White House to demand that the military go in and save these animals.

Now that they have evacuated so many humans, its TIME, NOW, to save their best friends. The death toll of humans is much lower than expected, but not evacuating the pets has made the animal death toll unimaginable. AMERICA DOES NOT ABANDON IT'S PETS WHILE WATCHING THEM SUFFER A SLOW AND PAINFUL DEATH. This is cruelty to animals, which humans caused by leaving them, then not rescuing them, NOW HUMANS MUST SAVE THEM.

FLOODING THE WHITE HOUSE WITH CALLS ON MONDAY WILL GUARANTEE a call from the White House to the field to save the animals.

SPREAD THE WORD and thank you for standing up for the animals. You have saved many so far and many more to come.

Another site to visit is Noah's Wish. It's director is Terri Crisp, one of the founders of United Animal League's EARS, who has been rescuing pets during disasters since the '80's. They work in conjunction with other agencies, and you can donate various supplies of all kinds, not just money. they are also working with finding foster homes. My sister's humane society sent a team down yesterday, to help coordinate bringing up animals up here. she's already signed up as a foster, either for the Katrina victims, or animals currently in the shelter, in order to make room in the shelter for Katrina victims. I am hoping & praying that others in their area will open up hearts & homes as well....those poor pets. thanks for supplying the webaddresses - when I get back home, I plan to write & fax the White House.

I have seen nothing about animal rescue workers being banned, or pets being shot. Do you have a link?

I've been surfing all the animal rescue websites while some really need help nothing about shooting I think it was either IFAW or UAN mentioning hepatic lipidois in the cats if they haven't been eating. I think the shelters are getting full and they some websites are recommending if people can come back and get their own pets to do so.

The shooting (still going on) is at Saint Bernards Parish! They are trying to say these dogs may have rabies!

If you go to the BestFriends website and click onto the hurricane special reports part you will learn a Lot and also the HSUS!
