My kids just brought home Yankee Candle catalogs for a school fundraiser. Oh, they are so expensive! But I'm glad to hear they do smell good, because I ordered a votive collection with many scents!

I think they have a website, maybe the people out of the US can order at the website?

Just think, if we were all neighbors, I could send the little ones over to knock on your doors and sell you candles!

One of my favorites is Spiced Pear.
They have changed it now and it has a different name and scent.

I love Yankee Candles, they scent the whole house.

OH, and they have little warming thingies for scented candles in the glass jars (like Yankee Candles) where it just warms the wax to release the scent.
They say it is safe around children and animals because it doesn't get hot enough to really burn. I've been thinking of getting one for a while now, and with this thread I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get one! :bightumb:
i have a candle warmer here at school, because they outlawed flame candles. it works very well - people are always commenting on how good it smells in here. definitely worth the money!

I dont have a yankee candle scent that i like, but when i was in highschool i worked at a candle store named Illuminations, they sell home decor as well and my fav. there was lavender. Mostly because they use oils that simulate real essential oils so they dont use purfumes. its a cleaner and stronger scent. Most of the time they are dead on to the item they are trying to copy. So if anyone likes floral scents they are a good candle store to try.....

Oh sorry, Karen. I got really excited there about the show , didn't I? It was on the Travel Channel last night. Of course, if you have seen the factory in real life, then that's even better!

Has anyone ever tried Colonial Candles? I've seen them in the stores, and received a (scratch and sniff
) catalog yeserday. I've never tried them, but some of the jars have a really interesting oval shape to them.

Next time I'm in VA visiting my sis I'll have to road trip to Williamsburg. I have colonial candles but only in tapers. I never had used them until Tues nite when we had no electricity I read by candlelight!! But I thought they also made a different type that are in oval glass containers?? There was a spiced autumn one that I really liked!!

I love Yankee Candles. I change them with the seasons. (Almost time to dig out the Harvest candles.) My all-time favorite, though, is Home Sweet Home.

I've got some of the Colonial Candles, too. They're OK, but I don't think they smell as strongly as the Yankee Candles.

Fall came today!
It's been cloudy and raining and about 60F/15C right now. I decided to get into some warm PJs and burn a Cinnamon Stick tart . It smells like fall in my house now.

Oh and there is a Halloween kitty in my back yard as we speak! An all black one. My hubby first comment was "OMG - I hope someone didn't drop him off" He is under our bird feeder, but he is used to people because he is not afraid of me and he looks well cared for
