Has anyone found the video (link) to the story of the New Orleans boy pulled away from his dog "Snowball" on the bus?

I read stories but have yet to see this actual video?

Any help out there?

Huskies, or Mallies?
Thanks for noticing!

Both Alaskan Malamutes (Showdogs) bought from a breeder in my area.

Trying to be modest when I say they are truly astonishing in person. Such beautiful markings and personalities.

I thought they were Malamutes, looked a bit big chested to be Huskies
they look lovely!

I have a Husky named Isis. she has some awesome markings too. A few kids in the neighborhood call her demon lol (from snow dogs). Isis doesnt have the want for the show ring, BUT she does have the love for Agility (we have apuppy course that she goes NUTS for) and shes quite the puller, so we will do some Sjouring with her, and a friend may want to put her on her sled team when shes old enough

Snowball to reunite with young La. owner

NEW ORLEANS — Snowball, a little white dog taken from a sobbing child being evacuated from New Orleans, has been found and will soon be back in his owner's arms, an animal rescue official said Tuesday.

The boy was among thousands of people sheltered at the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina and had arrived with his dog. But when the order came to evacuate the Superdome for Houston, the boy was told he could not take the animal on the bus.

In a scene caught by the Associated Press, the unidentified boy cried out “Snowball! Snowball!†then vomited in distress.

People who read the account set up a website and reward fund to help find the dog.

Terry Conger, a veterinarian and information officer for the Incident Command Center that is coordinating animal rescue efforts in Louisiana, said state veterinary officers have confirmed that Snowball is safe in a Louisiana shelter and his owner has been located in Texas.

The two are to be reunited soon, Conger said. “Everything is under control,†he said. — Anita Manning

I'm glad they'll be reunited. It made me sick that there were no accomodations made for animals down there. They tried to make one lady leave her seeing eye dog! If a dog is allowed in the grocery store and public transportation, there's NO excuse to not allow it to be evacuated with it's person! She finally got them to let her have her dog. Can you imagine being a blind person, being evacuated to a totally unfamiliar place, and them trying to tell you that you can't have your eyes??

If I lived in an area like that, I'd have to set up a foster home ahead of time so if a hurricane was coming, i could get my pets off to safety before it hit.

Becky I appreciate you finding this but I was hoping for the link for the video of the actual footage of the boy being torn away from his dog near the bus. Let me know if you can find it, but, thanks for your effort so far.

I've heard the story, but never seen any video footage. If it was caught by an AP reporter, that wouldn't have been on video...maybe there was a photographer there, but probably not if we haven't seen the pictures plastered everywhere.

Can I ask...Why do you want to see such a heartbreaking scene? Is it for a presentation or something?

For the same reason people want to see Katrina's damage, or to see 'updates' on the people reuniting with their families, or animals being rescued after having been left behind to fend for their selves, and any other event that is tugging at our hearts with concern.
