For a more exotic taste try the Japanese Miso Steak.:
2 tablespoon miso with 2 tablespoon of sake or sherry
1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
1 to 1.5 teaspoon sugar (depending on your taste)
A tiny bit of black pepper
A tiny bit of fine ginger (If you like ginger)
Some Seasame oil (If you desire but not necessary)
1/2 teaspoon soy sauce (If you desire but not necessary)
And a little water (to lubricate if necessary)
You should be able to find miso in a container in supermarkets in the international section or asian grocers. The white is milder and the red is a be stronger in taste.
well in australia they had this curry dip, and you just slice chicken up stick it on skewers and cover with curry sauce, the next day its delicious when you cook it and it doesnt even have a curry taste whoa it was a delish!
Have you ever tried the GrillMates packets? The Montreal Steak one is very good. I marinate them WAY longer than it says to. I also improvise on what to add into it depending what I have on hand - sometimes it's wine instead of vinegar. A friend of ours likes to put a little rum in it.
my favourite: Jack Daniels sauce - it doesnt taste alcohol-y but you put it on the meat/pork/chicken in the last 5 mins of cooking and its heavenly!!!!
1/2 cup Jack Daniels
1/2 cup worseshire sauce ( can use Soy Sauce if you prefer )
1/2 cup ketcup
1 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Combine all ingeedients in a small saucepan, simmer until slightly
thickened about 5 mins makes about 1 1/2 cups
