What color points do a seal point female and a flame point male make, or does it depend or background?

What do the pedigrees look like? The ancestors can contribute to the color of the kitten for generations, it just won't usually look very good (for that color point)

it's very hard to describe. But here goes!

Their skin or underneath their fur seems to be very dark (almost black) Their fur is a greyish silver color and their points are dark brownish/black. They were born with faint dark points (which are prominent now) and like a dirty white. (These are what the kittens look like)

Seal Point Mother, her mom was seal point and dad was blue.

Flame Point Father, his mom was blue and dad was flame

It sounds possibly blue to me with the grayish/silver body coat, then the face sounds seal, but I've seen many a cat change colors as they get older. That would be quite a strange sight though to have a blue coat with seal points! Let's hope that's not the case (although I don't think it's really possible).

Apparently it is possible. Read my story about my kittens on the color changing. I didn't think it was genetically possible either. I had blue tabby/white kittens with seal points and now they are black/white kittens with faint points....tell ME what's going on with genetics?????

That is really strange then! When I worked with Siamese I color bred, so I never had any surpises like that. I do know though that a lot of color breeders will tell you certain things are genetically impossible, but then they happen!

I'm not color breeding my Maus at the moment, with my cats backgrounds I was only supposed to have silvers, well I have a bronze and a smoke - not possible according to everyone else but here they are!

If you can get any pictures up tanya, I'd love to have a look at them. It sounds like you have a genuine coat mutation that would be beneficial for other breeders to see for reference/research.

This is a pic of the female, Jillian.

She looks a little seal, but her coat is quite gray

Seal point mother to flame point father = all female kittens are tortie points (since you have mentioned that both parents carry blue, then torties could be seal torties or blue creams), male kittens are seal or blue points (since you have mentioned that both parents carry blue).

If you are breeding these cats again, suggest you read up about color genetics - especially the sex-linked red gene.
