So as I mentioned in my other thread: I am now the foster mom to a 4 week old female kitten from the local shelter. She's very loud and is black w/ little white hairs on her chest.

I'll see if I can get the picture thing down:

Now that you've all oohed and ahhed over the little girl, can you help me find a good name for her?

She's a doll! I don't have any good ideas, although she looks a little misty with the white hairs, you could call her Misty! Try to get something that really stands out so people notice her even more when you try to adopt her out.

are you interested in names based on her appearance (cute as a button) or her personality? if the latter, tell us what she's like. this website has lots of name choices, also these Newpet & Petrix

Aw she is SO cute.

I can't think of names for my trio of fosters either though. I'm thinking of literary names perhaps...

Good luck!

Well names based on anything really lol.

This little girl has been here only about 1.5 hours but this is what I've noticed so far:
- loud (mewed for the whole 15 min car trip home, mews when I leave the room)
- brave (bats my 35lb Border Collie on the nose for fun)
- fearless (Maggie, the BC, gently mouthed her paw once and tries to lick her to death whenever she gets a chance and the kitten takes it without a fuss)
- acrobatic (already climbing the crate sides)
- loves catnip (I know they aren't supposed to react to it this young, but she was having a blast w/ the catnip scented scratching post I have in the crate for her)
- messy (food and litter strewn everywhere in her shelter cage)
- likes being held and playing with balls that make noise.

Here's some names I've thought of so far:

Onyx
Sephora
Lexus
Whisper
Ebony

and of course Katrina, but I think thats waaay too much of a negative connotation for such a cute girl.

some 'personality' name suggestions...
Banshee - Chewy - Digger - Echo
Bodacious - Flash - Frisky - Hoppity
Cheeky - Hurricane - Kamikaze - Minx
Mischief - Miss Chievious - Monkey - Moxie
Ping Pong - Pounce - Prance - Quidditch
Ricochet - Rowdy - Sassy - Saucy
Tornado - Vortex - YoYo - Zip
- got these from Bowwow, the first website i listed. i like that site because they give options like personality names, pairs, alpha, appearances, etc. mine are all named after computer components or programs. have you thought of a theme you might like - my ferals are named after literary characters or musical terms - Pooh, Mungojerry, Encore, Rhythmn, Melody, Harmony, Tigger, Piglet - you get the idea.

I like the idea of coming up with a theme! I do think I have decided on the name Lexus; for some reason it just seems to fit and I like the sound -- maybe all my fosters will be named for cars?! lol

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!
