thanks for the heads up Tracey. Jerry is definitely a red head! I printed it for him to read!

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I'm a redhead and have always had to be careful in the sun. Good advice!

yah redhead here... I protect myself but in my teens, I tried to keep up with my brunette & blonde girlfriends and BASKED in the sun.

Just got pinker and grew more freckles. Ugh.

I showed that to my boyfriend...who is not a redhead, but a very pale, freckled blonde who refuses to cop to the freckles that reside on his pretty little nose.... He does NOT tan...he gets burned to a crisp unless he has on SPF 1000. He laughed off that article with the excuse that he's not a redhead so why should he worry.... I've seen natural redheads with skin darker than his.
I wonder if pale blondes are at higher risk, as well?

Yes, pale skinned blondes are at risk. We must wear sunblock and be educated about the skin cancer risk. Your bf burns without tanning = skin with a higher risk. Tell him to be more careful!

Just about 75% of my mom's family is redhead. My two brothers and sister are too. I'm a brunette, but am cursed with the pale skin.

Oh, I harp on him every day to use his face lotion, which is SPF 20. He only wears it every other day, when he shaves.

Heck, I'm a brunette (albeit a pale one) and I wear at least SPF 15 every day!
