It can be. Mooch didn't make an audible meow for a long time after we brought her home. They make noises we can't hear is what I've been told.

Some cats don't meow much at all and that's perfectly normal. My mom and dad's cat Misty (RIP) lived to be 21 and it wasn't until she hit around 18 that she started to meow. The vet said that there was nothing wrong with her..just that she didn't have anything to say!

Angel never made a sound when she meowed, either. Sometimes a little squeak, but that was it! I always wondered if she just hadn't used her little vocal cords for so long that she couldn't manage more than that squeak! It was so cute, though!

Mika doesn't meow either but she has a vocal box defect and just makes the cutest little noises that we've come to know and love.

See, Oliver and Mika really were meant for each other! She'd never be able to get a word in edgewise with him--he can do the talking for them both!
