My 9 week old kitten tries to lick/bite my earlobes while I am sleeping. I push him away but he repeatedly comes back. He is purring when he does this. I've tried putting lemon perfume on my neck and ears but it doesn't bother him. I live in a bachelor apartment so I can't lock him out of my room. Any suggestions on what I can do? Thanks!

I read another thread here about a cat eating Q-Tips. Apparently cats like the taste of earwax! Gross but true! Ummm.....I think keep putting "offensive" stuff on your ears to put him off. The things we do for our cats!! I'm thinking something hot like Tobasco, but that could really make him sick, and stain the pillows!
Do you wear earrings? Maybe something metal would put him off your ears?

I normally do wear earrings but he was biting on them and trying to pull them out! So I'm not wearing any to bed now. No necklace either because he was trying to take that as well!

Clinton did that for awhile, but grew out it I guess. He only wanted my hair anyway, heck still does. But, do you have neck pillow you could sleep with, like the travel pillows? It would wrap around your head, and maybe provide some much needed protection!

Apply bitter apple to your ear lobes, that should sway him

Charcoal did that as a kitten and he outgrew it. Sometimes I miss it. I agree with the bitter apple suggestion.

Me too! Max always comes for a cuddle in the evening and first thing in the morning, there's no better way to wake up than a purring kitten in your ear!

The bitter apple worked. He still cuddles up to my neck and purrs but doesn't lick my ears. The licking was too much like he was hitting on me!

Sounds like you have a cat burglar on your hands!

Glad to hear the Bitter Apple worked! It's much nicer to have a snuggle with something who's not trying to eat you!
