Cryptococosis

My baby died from Cryptococosis. Has anyone delt with this horrible infectious killer? I tried to save him. After $2000.00 in vet bills and very expensive medicine, I still had to put him down. I want to make sure my house is safe for another pet.

I am sorry to hear about your cat, it certainly sounds like you did everything possible to save your kitty.

I would ask your vet as to whether or not you need to wait a certain period of time before getting another cat, and if you need to do any cleaning of the environment. Based on this article , it sounds as if (at the end of the article) there is little risk of this spreading animal to animal.

I'm more posting the article for those who may want to know more about what this is.

This is a new one on me too - there are so many killers out there. I am so sorry for your loss.
