Hate to start a new threat just for this, but its a fairly different topic...
Sharky mentioned putting olive oil in my cat's food once a week to make them shed less. I used to have ferrets and remember I gave them Ferratone, a vitamin supplement. I wonder if it could be given to cats with the same effects?

it is mostly soybean oil... so I avoid it ...

soybean can cause allergy ... in my house it causes gas... I try to avoid it... Oh and Pat showed a link about soy causes hyperthyroid in cats
