Hello all!

I am new here, my name is Brenda. I just got a new kitten today from an elder woman in town who was too old to take care of the new batch of kittens her cat had. I was worried she was going to be scared on the car ride home, but she was so inquisitive! She ran around my apt for a while but it seems she tuckered herself out because she is now sound asleep and settled into her little bed. My boyfriend and I named her "Inky" because she looks like someone spilled ink all over her. She is playful and loving and only 7 weeks old. So, just wanted to stop by and introduce myself and our "Little Inky".

Hi Brenda

Did you bring Inky home in a carrier or holding him? I remember bringing home my first shelter cat (many years ago) in my lap. Yeah, she stayed there a few minutes and began exploring the car, especially the region of the gas pedal. You can bet I became the owner of a good cat carrier fast!
But she was a love, and lived with me about 17 years.

Hope your experience with Inky is similarly blessed!

I brought Inky home in my lap...she was a little scared and first, but then as your cat did, she began to explore--and yes I am already looking for a carrier
...in fact this Saturday Inky is getting her first shots to keep her healthy.

THANK YOU ALL for your warm welcomes. I look forward to getting to know all of you better and sharing on the forums. Little Inky thanks you!

Oh yea...it seems our new kitten has a multitude of names...her characteristics are starting to come out...she's playful and it seems always loving and happy. The other day my bf and I were looking up cool names on the internet and stumbled across a japanese goddess by the name of Uzume--she is the shinto goddess of happiness and joy...and somehow it just fit....for short I call her Zumie...so well now she's "Inky Zumie" hehee LOL.
