I just got a short hair domestic tabby from the Humane Society and I noticed that even though his hair is short, he still has big matted places on his tail and on his neck. Can these be combed out with baby oil or something or should I just take some scissors to them? Thanks!

Please take this little one to a groomer who is trained to deal with cats .... it will be pricey but well worth it for you and the baby...
