I know people frequently buy sweaters or shirts for dogs, but what about cats? I saw a website with some shirts for cats and wondered....anyone ever tried it? Cause my black cat would look awfully cute with a halloween shirt on in October....

It is the most economical litter I have ever used. I only put a layer of litter in the pan that will cover half the pan. As the cats use it, it turns to sawdust. When its all dust you dump it....

This is probably the single most important toy I ever bought. I got it when my boy was a kitten and two years later, he still plays with it every day.

my kits would freak out if i tried to put that stuff on them. but yours may be more tolerant.
They're pretty tolerant- they both wear collars with no problem and I admit I tried putting a baby tshirt on one...he didn't exactly jump for joy over it but he didn't freak out either. He walked backwards a bit, and if it hadn't gotten in his way while walking I don't think he would have really cared.

i'm sure u could find cat outfits or make a small dog outfit into a cat outfit. personally i think putting clothes on a dog or cat looks kinda of...how do i say...stupid. but that's just me...i let my animals be animals.
lol, I thought so to at first but my terrier LOVES his clothes. As in...if we take his collar off, he cries and howls until we put it back on, and in the winter he'll flatly refuse to go outside without his jean jacket. He's a bit of a strange dog though...I'm not certain he realizes he's a dog.

Somewhere I have a picture of Abby, my mom's dog, dressed up in a wig, a tutu, and legwarmers. Then we got her to 'dance' too.
I love clothse for animals! I want some for my 2 too!

What website is it?
I'll have to find it- I've been scrolling through cat supply sites all day and its lost in the shuffle. I do know that they clothes weren't by nature cat clothes, they just had the smallest dog sizes listed under a cat clothes header. I imagine cats couldn't/wouldn't wear anything bulky, & it would have to be something heavy on the spandex.

I have hairless cats and live in Michigan, so cloths for my cats is a good thing!
I purchase a lot of them off ebay, most are "dog" shirts, but as long as you measure you will be all set and I also a have few contacts that make fleece shirts for Sphynx. One place that I seen a lot of cute dog/cat shirts was Target. They have a new line of pet cloths and they range from $9.99-$24.99. Here are a new pictures of my babies wearing their shirts and sweaters.
Here is Vinnie (the boy I lost) and Monte in his Steelers hirt

Tai, this pic was taken this morning

Did it take your sphynxes long to get used to clothing? I'd love to try it out just for fun.

I think animal clothes are cute to an extent, haha... my black lab gets dressed up for halloween every year and I used to dress her in baby clothes and tshirts when she was a pup... as for Oliver, I've thought about it but I think he plain wont like it... he does have a collection of bandannas though (most of which I've made - I make them for the dog too), his favorite one is his PennState one - although he looks more like a tiger with his stripes, he's a Nittany Lion fan at heart! He doesn't mind them at all and actually thinks he's gonna get a bath if I take them off... currently he's sporting a kelly green one with tiny gold polka dots (I was in too big a rush this morning to get to our game that I forgot to switch it to his PSU one for while he watched us beat Southern Florida!).... anyhow, I just know my kitty can be quite picky and am also kinda afraid to spend the money and have him hate it... let us know if you get something and how your kitty reacts!
You can kinda see his PSU one in this pic - I'm waiting on more pics to be developed in which he's wearing them too

Zoey tolerates tshirts but I tried a little dress and she said no.. Gigi my yorkie loves getting dressed
Aw, he's so cute in them! The terrier I spoke about earlier gets bandanas when he returns from the groomers...he really think's he's pretty hot in them. But like I said, I'm not entirely sure he recieved the memo that he's a DOG, not a person.

It is easier if you start when they are kittens though.

Did she walk with her butt low to the ground like the shirt weighed a ton? That's what Cupid does when I first put a shirt on him!He loves clothes as long as they're not itchy, like wool. He sits on his butt and sticks his paws out for me when I dress him.
I usually only put a shirt on him on bath day, after his bath to keep drafts off him (and keep him clean for a few days!) and then just whenever I feel like he needs one on (if I wouldn't be comfortable naked, then he's probably not either). When he was a baby I used to make them from socks--the kind that are just straight and long. I'd cut the feet off and cut arm holes in the top and they fit perfectly! Now he's too big for that (which is a shame because they fit really well and were super cute!) so I buy him dog clothes.
Some of my favorite sites to buy doggie/kitty clothes are:

^ this is a sock! See how well it fits!

^ This is his most recent shirt. I got it for his bday this month.

Purr - how cute! funny, i just bought that same heart shirt today, it was on sale, YAY!
While I don't plan on regularly "dressing-up" the kitty, I want him to get used to what kitty clothes feel like because I don't want him getting chilled when we travel for the holidays.
That and then I have another reason to take pictures of my cute little boy!
...as if I need a reason!

I bought some stuff on sale at Target to day...as long as it fits they don't seem to care, but if its too big they get upset. I'll take some pictures later. I tried a sock to, but it was WAY too small. Oh well.
Oh my. He's so cute I can't stand it.

Teehee!
He's adorable, Rina!
Luv, he was really tiny! I didn't realize how much bigger he is now until I tried to put one of them back on him--no way!
Danalee, that's awesome! Did you get it online? I love it because it's blue and has a red heart. I'm awfully tempted to buy pink frilly clothes.
I don't think he'd mind
but when I show people, they always make comments about it--like when he used to wear the "shirt" he's wearing in my avatar.

Purr - I actually found his outfit in a local store, they had their summer clothes 75% off! woo hoo! They do have a website though, with sale prices as well. www.muttropolis.com
I had to stop and look at all the pink clothes too. Girl clothes are often so much cuter! I don't think Clinton would mind if I dressed him in pink either...heck, he already glares at me when I fuss over him too much! boys!

I just bought the cutest thing for Oliver at walmart! It's a little dog hat (I got the small and it's a tiny bit big on his head, but I dont think they make an extra small)... well the hat has ear holes and velcros under the chin and it's a little soft pirate hat! It also has a little eye patch on it (not to go over his eye, but it's part of the hat and looks like it sits on his forehead)... I put it on him a few times tonite to start getting him used to it and he walks around like his head weighs 800 pounds then starts rolling on the floor, hahaha... it was only a dollar something in the pet section... I'm hoping he'll get used to it if I put it on him every day for a short amount of time so he can wear it for halloween! As soon as I can get pictures of him in it I'll post them!

That sounds cute! I wonder why they act like they weigh so much when they first get them on. It sure is cute to watch them walk around like that though.

AWwww!!
I love everybodys cats! So cute!
Your cat is sooooo adorable Rina! I've never seen one with his colors before.
I love to dress mine up too. They usually flop on the floor a bit and then tolerate it. I have this little shirt that came on a bear from JC Penny (Its red with an american flag on the front and the back says Younkers) it fits aerowyn Perfectly! Hehehehe. I have like a bazillion pictures of her in her shirt! Elliot has a purple sweater with a hood on it and it says "I Love U" (like university) Hehehe.
I also bought a build a bear cat (Build a bear is a toy shop thing where you choose a stuffed animal outside, watch it stuffed, and you can buy clothes for it. Lets just say that even though I had wanted one fo them for a long time.. it wasnt my only motive.
(The shirts fit elliot
) He looks so funny though with his big fat tummy and bum sticking out though!!!!
The cat I had before these two.. Pigger.. well I had this yellow shirt that fit him.. and then I had these little shorts... I had to cut a whole for his tail to go through (and so he could use the potty!) and then I used safety pins to put the shirt and pants together (otherwise the pants would fall down!) and he would walk around comfortably in that. Heheh.
Elliot likes to wear shirts though
I have one of those little hats for eli too! Its blue with a little paw on it... He doesnt like it too much but it's hilarious when I put it on him. I just recently got a dog sweater too that I put on elliot. He loves that.
It will be nice when we go outside in the wintertime for a little bit of outside/snow play. (Aerowyn will wear her red sweater.. of course!)
I only wish that I could put socks on them
but they wont stay on their feet. (and yes I have tried multiple ways)
Hehe.. we had a garage sale recently that was mostly of my mom's friends stuff.. well she has three kids... 2, 4, and 6.
Oooh I sifted trhough there to find all kinds of clothes! THeres this one dress I took that i smade of jean and it has pink checkered skirting and a cute little bear with bows on it.. well you guessed it... I have pictures of elliot wearing that
Now if only I had a digital camera!

PS: his mommy (me) is going to be a pirate wench for Halloween and his daddy (Jim) is possibly going to be Captain Morgan - so the pirate thing is running in the family this year!

Charcoal might let me. The others would tear me to shreds if I tried. lol
Pirates! Thats so cute! I don't think that a headpiece would last long with mine, but I've had a lot of success with that little blue jersey so who knows. Oo your cat even looks rather piratey too, if I do say so myself. I'm not certain why....maybe he just looks tough?
Thanks BigOrange, Alcott think's he's pretty good looking too, just ask him...lol. I hope mine can wear shorts! That'd be so cute!

Muahahahaha... I went in the garage today looking for clothes that would fit. I really didnt think I woudl be able to find a pair of bibs that would fit elliot... but guess what???
I DID
Its a green camo/army one. I had to cut a hole fo rhis tail, but it fits him perfectly. I also found a couple of plaid shirts, and some white long sleeved ones with vests (one had a red bow on it, one had a tie!)
So now elliot has a regular wardrobe.
Right now he is wearing a red plaid button in the front shirt with a white undershirt. (SO cute)
One of the shirts and the vests makes him look all gangster like. It came with pants but I dont think I'd like to put them on him. The bibs look cute but I dont really think cats should wear pants.
