This morning at 9:30, my poor Chester went home. He's been my soulmate kitty for 15 years...I got him when I was only 5. His body was basically shutting down from old age...he wouldn't eat or drink anymore. He tried to eat for me but just couldn't. Kidney failure, anemia and thyroid problems all contributed, but basically he knew it was his time to go.

I love you, my poor Chester. You will always be in my heart. I thank God for the wonderful 15 years we had together. How you always slept by my side every night and purred happily. I know that you no longer suffer and that you are happy and healthy once more. We will meet again someday, my dear friend. You were always there for me, right by my side. My sweet baby, I miss you more than anything. RIP my darling Chester.

My sweet baby.

Thank you all for being so nice and for your kind words. I know that Chester is in a better place. I'm missing him like crazy already. I'm glad to know that he suffers no longer...but it's still hard to let him go.

of course it was hard to let him go, but your right, now he is no longer in pain and can play happily and healthly. You will of course meet him again one day as he will continue to watch over you until you can cross the final bridge together one day.

He had 15 wonderful long years with you - thats simply amazing, and I can only imagine how difficult it must of been for you to say goodbye. Take comfort in the fact that he is now at peace my friend

RIP Chester - enjoy those angel wings little one

The poor baby
It sounds like you and Chester had a wonderful, loving friendship together

And don't worry because he has a new lease of life now over the bridge with plenty of friends to play with and butterflies to chase, but you will see him again one day because he'll be standing waiting for you

Awww thanks you guys, you're making me cry all over again. I just keep thinking, what if I gave him one more day. Maybe he would've eaten and gotten stronger. I don't think he would have...he and I both knew it was time. I'm just glad he's at peace.

I am so sorry about your loss.
You and your family provided great love and care for Chester all of those 15 years. Celebrate the fact that he was able to spend so much time with you and that he is not feeling tired, sick or any kind of pain now

I am very sorry for your loss, P-Girl! Please know that we each question our euthanasia decision! One more day, one more hour...but you saw your Chester fading, and saved him from the final suffering!

May time ease your pain. Rest in peace, Chester, old boy. Watch over the kittens over the bridge who never knew the love that you were blessed to share!
