Hello everyone,
I just joined the forum yesterday. I currently live in Maine, and have six cats (ten with Kooshie's new additions last evening), a dog, and just about everything else. My husband calls our house the animal house, becasue we are greatly outnumbered by pets I have acquired through rescue, or ones that have just walked in and made themselves at home.
I have a steel grey cat named Morpheous who is my boy, he is so loving and wonderful, not much upsets him except he is on a strict diet and can only eat dry cat food, although he is madly in love with raisons, lol. This cat has gone through leaps and bounds to make sure he was here with us. I went away for awhile and someone brought him to the shelter, two months later I visited the shelter, hee saw me and started howling and clawing at the cage, he is so devoted and clearly an angel sent to me for guidance, strength and love.
My black cat is Kovu, he and my white cat, Krane just went to the groomers yesterday and have about four pounds less fur then they had before. Kovu actually is more my dogs cat than anything else, the two of them are unseperable, they do everything together, a match made in heaven, they eat together, bathe eachother, and when the lgihts go out they curl up into one another and fall fast asleep. Krane, belongs to my husband, although my husband would strongly debate the issue, this cat follows my husband everywhere and greets him at the door when he returns home from work, he loves my husband, my husband says he tolerates him. Krane was rescued from a junk yard, he fell from a crane and was left for dead, a state trooper friend of mine brought him to the shelter where they invested $4,000 worth of vet bills to replace his rib-cage, jaw bones and provide him with false teeth. We joke and say he better not lay in the sun too long or he'll get longer, where he's primarliy teflon, lol. He has a huge heart and a very strong will.
Next is Dash, I found him at PAWS in downeast maine and at the time wasnt able to adopt him, I visited him every other day and told him some day I would give him a warm and loving home. One year later, he became a wonderful addition to our family, and he has since adopted our human daughter, Cheyenne.
Kooshie is my one and only female, she's been with us for the longest, she's my little babygirl, she had kittens last evening due to her skill at escaping through the window. SHe's an awesome mom, and number one on my list.
Fleez claimed my husband, we visited a local shelter and he reached out with his huge claws and grabbed my husbands arm and would not let go. After we finally got his claws removed from being imbedded in his arm, we found out he is actually very sweet and loving. He came from a neglective and abusive home, but spending time with him, you'd think he has always lived a first class lifestyle. He is the alpha male, and his favorite things are green olives and noogies!
ANd then there's our dog Mikah, but that's for another forum, lol.
