the kittens will be 10 days old in a few hours... they seem to enjoy moving around a bit when Momma's taking a break from them, (when shes not eating or pooping or asking me for some love she lays outside the box until they cry). i can't wait for their eyes and ears to be fully open!!

its ALMOST more exciting then my own kids (1 and 1 on the way) but only kuz i dont have to change diapers and be sad kuz they get colic.. hehe

one of them has a mucusy nose but i've since moved their box to a warmer are of the house and preceeded to wipe the dry mucus out of the nasal passages with a warm wet cloth and she seems to be doing better (horray!)

i also have two 2 month olds and two 2 1/2 month olds we adopted from a man in the paper and from a local pet store... (before u scream about the pet store, this particular store takes in kittens from people who can't find homes and gives them away to people that buy x amount of moneys worth of cat things [must include kitten food]). the younger two were hand raised kuz their mommy died
but theyre quite loving because of it.

one of them had a seizure or stroke or something... (Midnight) he was flopping all over bouncing between the ocmputer case and wall.... i restrained him until this stopped and then administered kitty cpr because his heart was slow and he was having trouble breathing with his mouth wide open tounge hanging out.... shortly after his heart was up and he was breathing fine. he slept in my lap for many hours afterwards and took about a day to recover full mobility. the vet said he's perfectly healthy and maybe sank his tooth too far into a cord. (except that their are no cords, i have them all covered) so for now he's his happy loving crazy self just a lot more affectionate.

so im crossing my fingers for Midnight and the icky nosed baby but everyone else is doing wonderful..... i have yet to find the right cord to hook my camera to my PC but i'm trying!!

That's great to hear. Definately with that many kittens around it would be good to have them all neutered on the early side.

My kittens already have very sharp claws. Do softpaws really work on young kittens? I was thinking about that as I can't stand the thought of declawing my cats.

Robyn....you can trim their nails at this age....I trimmed my foster kittens nails to get them used to having their nails trimmed.

with the young ones we use all the smaller ones from the different boxes (thank goodness she works at a pet store or it'd be way expensive!!) but they're growing so fast.... and yes trimming or "lightly" filing nails to dull them works good too!
