My baby had an abcess went to the vets they did thier thing and now he has a drain, I have dealt with the drain going through two openings but this has 3 openings and I don't turn the string. Never saw this before has anyone else? Kitty is on antibiotics and doing well, four more days to go. Just never saw this type before and was curious.

I haven't seen that kind before either. Did the vet provide you with some solution to flush the wound with? Are you still able to get the solution through the holes? If not, I'd call them and ask if you should be concerned. You just want to make sure the bacteria aren't sealed in.

The abcess has 3 openings?
Hmm.... haven't seent hat beofre either.

But when Lilo was nursing her babies I noticed one day that she felt hot(even through her fur) and she wouldn't move at all. So I rushed her to the vet and her temp. was really high. So the vet started looking over her and found an abcess under her right top nipple. He opened it and squeezed so much out. He said he had never seen that much puss come out of an abcess before. He also flushed it out with something and told me at home to not let the abcess close for a few days and to keep pushing on it to make sure if there was any puss in it to get it out.
Just call your vet if your not sure.

Sundance is drain free now! It all went well and he is home now from getting the drain taken out! There wasn't a problem with the drain it is just I never saw 3 openings before, what is was was 2 drains next to each other. I just hope this doesn't happen again! (They are indoor kittys so someone got a little po'd at him I guess)
