New Here, just found the site

Hi....I'm new here as I just found this site. I live in West Virginia and we (my wife and I) currently have 6 strictly indoor cats. Denali is a neutered male Siamese/Persian mix about 18 months old, Sparticus is a neutered male flame-point Persian/Himalayan mix about 16 months old, Shaylee is a spayed female Pixie-Bob she is almost 10 months old, Kiyoshi is a neutered male Pixie-Bob and he is almost a year old, Amaudeus is a neutered Silver Egyptian Mau and he is 8 months old, last but not least is Thor he is a male Maine Coon and will be 5 months old the 15th of this month. We have quite an array of breeds and of course very unique personalities come with them. I'm looking forward to listening to your experiences and sharing mine.

Expected to see shots of a massive Maine Coon called Thor - what a hoot to see a fuzzy little kitten instead! Have enjoyed Maine Coons myself; friends have 3 now, (lost one to cancer.) They sure are a lively breed. Friend said whe had visited the cattery to find the kittens bouncing off their mamma cat. Then visited an Abby cattery to find the kittens bouncing off the walls. ;-)

You say Persian/Himilayan mix but just to clarify they are actually the same breed and Himilayan is just a colour.

How refreshing that all your cats are indoors!! 6 of them.. that is so wonderful! You can tell you are passionate about your cats- which I think is just so great. They also sound like they were rescues?? I am glad your cats have someone that truly cares for them and loves them like you seem to do. =)

I'm new to this board and so far I like what I've seen. Yours topped them so far.. it put a smile on my face when you said "strictly indoors". =)

Thank-You for the welcome. Actually only two of our cats were rescues. The other four were from breeders. It is my opinion that cats are much safer being kept indoors and actually when we do take them outside either on a leash or being held to take pictures it seems to really frighten them. I guess it is all the unfamiliar noises and smells that makes them feel insecure. Some of them handle it better than others do, but ultimately as I said, I feel that they are safer being strictly indoor babies.
