I'm sorry everyone... I hope you aren't sick of me
I am going through some tough times right now...
I have almost always had problems with my weight
I am 5'5" and weigh about 210
I was about 170 2 years ago when I got married. Recently I find myself eating all the time (no I'm not pregnant
) I eat to the point where I feel so sick
I'm not hungry I just eat... Please help me I can't stop crying!!!
I am on antidepressants (chemically imbalanced & Anxiety) and I have been for about 11 years... Could I be in need of different meds? Why can't I stop eating??? I am so unhappy!!!! Please help....

See your doctor that prescribed that anti-depressants. It may be time for a change. I'm sorry that you're having a rough time, honey.

You need to find a hobby.. like going out for a walk, collecting rocks, stones, leaves or what tickles your fancy

you can also sew and knit, then you are concentrating on something..
not chatting or browsing websites, You need to start discipling your self to start eating less and healthier

Did your doctor ever check things like your thyroid or your metabolism? I think there are pills they can give you to speed up your matabolism.

I'll just tell you outright because I'm not ashamed of my weight that I am 5'11 or 6 feet tall and I weigh 300 at the moment.

I dont eat hardly at all. in fact, the only things I have eaten today was some leftover peas in the fridge, and now a bowl of Ramen. Sure it's not the BEST things I could be eating yeah, but I really dont eat that much at all yet I dont lose weight. I suspect I might have a thyroid problem because I have a very irregular period that hasnt sorted itself out yet, and on the internet I read it could be thyroid problems. Do you have a regular period? If not maybe that is the problem.

Sometimes when I just want to eat that means I am really bored. For me I like to sit down and read a good book where I will be absorbed in it and not think about anything else. Maybe you could buy some harnesses and leashes for your cats and take them outside. You dont necessarily have to walk, but sometimes just being outside can be helpful.

Othertimes when I have nothing to do an I am really board.. I just get something that I can chew on. For me this is usually celery. It doesnt taste all that good.. but I find I dont really mind the taste, I just want somethign to chew on. Also, drink lots more water. Its a bit easier for me because we cant really afford soda, so I usually just fill up a glass full o fwater and put a bit of instant tea in it.

You're probbaly like me and dont like to excercise at all, but expecially not when there is anyone in the house. One thing that I have heard works really well is pilates. Its usually not stressful at all. Heck, cant bring your leg up that high? You dont have to!

Are you married? Do you have kids? If so, tell yourself you need to plan meals more healthy for them, dont even think about yourself. Have one meat thing and two vegetables like peas and carrots.

The easiest way to avoid buying bad foods is to Have no Money! Buy lots and lots of things so you have only a bit of money left and zing! You wont be able to afford junk food. (ok so maybe that wont work... lol...)

the biggest thing you can do for yourself if you are overweight is to accept it and not care what others think about you. Really though this is one of the most difficult yet easy things you can do. I've gotten to the point where I really dont care what others think. I told myself I wont be going over the 300 mark and I wont. Sometimes you cant do much about being fat, it's inherited. My great grandmother and great grandfather were both skinny people, and yet all of their children are extremely fat! My grand mother is overweight, so are my two great aunts. I have one uncle who isnt fat, and he's bald!

You know what, you dotn have to feel so bad at all. 60% of americans are overweight!

I've really found that many people who try to lose weight dont do a very good job at all for one reason.. they dont accept the fact that yes, they are overweight, stop feeling sorry for themselves, and stop caring what others think. Once you stop caring about those things, you are at acceptance. When you are here, it is mudch easier to go at your own pace when losing weight. Many people even when you try to lose weight will tell you you arent doing enough, you are lazy, and such other stuff. The trick is to just ignore them, block them up, and ALWAYS KEEP UP YOUR SELF ESTEEM!!!! Sure right now it may be pretty low, but you still have it! Dont let it go any lower! If you learn to love yourself as you are, it makes it so much easier to control yourself and use your will to help you do what you need to do!

I am so sorry to hear youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re having such a tough time, you are not alone though.

I am in no way a doctor but I am studying dietetics at UPEI and I could offer you some tips and nutrition/exercise advice that you may want to consider!

It sounds to me like youâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re bored, what about finding a pass time that could take your mind off eating?

As for the eating in general, I do the same thing -- when I am bored I snack. Snacking isnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t bad, itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s actually good to eat smaller, more frequent meals during the day rather then 3 LARGE meals. Eating smaller meals and snacking can help boost your metabolism.

As for a snack, thatâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s where we can run into problems, what are you snacking on? I have loads of healthy snack ideaâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s but I would need to know what you snack on presently so that I could suggest a suitable replacement that wouldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t leave you craving the normal food that you eat. You can feel free to PM if you want.

As for exercise, I highly recommend pilates! Itâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s really good for those that are unable to do strenuous workouts. I am sure you could get a copy off the internet or buy one in a store. I do pilates daily, and it really helps tone your body and keep your muscles relaxed. You could also try going to a personal trainer, you may be able to alleviate some of your lower back pain with some target exercises.

I could ramble for hours about nutrition so feel free to PM with if you want some specifics or want to give me more details!

Most of all donâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t get discouraged, you CAN make healthy changes, you just need to make changes that YOU can live with so that you will stay on track.

Best of luck

Oh my goodness!!, I wish I were closer so I could give you a big hug!!

First step I would say is to talk to your doctor to see if any of your meds need to be changed, and to just reassess the situation.

Second step is what you are doing right now...talking about your problem..Your emotions are real and they hurt you, and don't worry about what anyone else ever says you have a right to feel however you feel.

Anytime you need to talk feel free to PM me, I'll always answer back!!

I have very little self esteem myself, and have also always battled with my weight.
One thing to consider, when I hit 35, my metabolism slowed down to a near standstill, and so to combat it I do take herbal metabolism boosters, but I've also had to increase my activity level.
More than just weight, an increase in activity will help stave off other age associated illnesses.

First though, you need to get your chemical imbalance rechecked and new meds if necessary.
A full physical will also help pinpoint other areas that may be adding to the overall issue.

the biggest thing you can do for yourself if you are overweight is to accept it and not care what others think about you. Really though this is one of the most difficult yet easy things you can do.
That is quoted for truth!

I know exactly how you feel - my weight is an immediate pointer to how I feel, and it yo-yos between 135 and 200 pounds ( I am 5'3''). As soon as I am stressed or bored it goes right up as I can't not eat all the bad things, even things I DONT LIKE! When I am happy and busy I can easily lose weight. Right now I am doing all I can to lose it, as it is not just self-esteem or not being able to wear my favourite clothes, but my health that is at stake. This is the real reason to lose, not what others think of you. Is your weight preventing you doing the things you really, for yourself, want to do? Are you sitting at home because you are afraid to go out, or because it will be too much of an effort dragging yourself around somewhere? Re there things you want to do, or used to do, but can't because of your size? If so, then think seriously about what you want to do with the rest of your life. We all only live once and life is too good to waste. I can tell others these things but I am not so good at doing them for myself. So feel free to tell me things back - maybe we can all goad each other!

BigOrange: Those sound more like symptoms of PCOS-- Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I don't have PCOS but have a similar condition where cysts develop on my ovaries, only one of my ovaries is fully functional. I would go to a gyno for a full exam--PCOS can severely compromise or completely damage your fertility and often people with severe PCOS experience a lot of pain.

Thank you all for your help and how caring you all are!!! You guys really are the nicest people!! I got a dog today from the humane society... I probably should not have, but I know he will make me walk... My husband is mad at me and we're not really talking because he says we don't have the money... I tell him that daily, but it doesn't keep him from going out with his friends and drinking!!!
