But I am worried that she might pull her stiches out or something

My hubby had to pick her up so I didnt get to talk to the vet,but if she licks the area is she likely to pull them out or am I just worrying over nothing?

Some don't put e-collars on their cats and their fine, but i had to with both of my two because they were pulling at their stitches, plus after two days of having her surgery, Sophie managed to get her e-collar off and pulled out a stitch

She had to go that night for a post op checkup and i was told it was fine and just to tie the collar a little tighter.

Keep an eye on her, but i didn't bother getting one for Rosie until a couple of days after her surgery, and it was late at night when she started going for her stitches, so i rang the emergency number for the surgery and they told me to make a temporary one from a cereal box.

She had a " Weetabix " e-collar around her neck until i went back to the surgery to buy an e-collar

i had to put an e collar on my girl when she was spayed because she was pulling at the stiches. the vet sent us home with one just in case... can you call your vet and ask their advice? the makeshift collar sounds like a good idea to me if she is really picking at them.

hope your kitty feels better soon. my littlest guy was neutered yesterday and he is acting like nothing happened... it is so much easier for the boys.

Awww...congrats Pepsi on having your girl spayed. I don't think my girl pulled at her stitches at all.

Yes they have stitches on the inside, but the vet said had Sophie got to those they would have had to put her under again to have them re done

To make the temporary one i cut a circle about 6-8" dia, fold it in half, where the fold is cut a half moon out, then cut through it so it can be wrapped around her neck, then just stick a couple of bits of tape across it to hold it together

OR!!!, have you something that can slide over her body like a stocking?, because that would be even better!

Here... or There... Hmmm
Kitters didn't touch her stitches at all. She was really a good girl. she didn't have an e-collar or the net sock thing. She was just naked bellied and running about like normal after the first day.
