Has anyone ever complained about a veterinarian to the state board?

I am contemplating writing a letter to the state Board of Veterinary Medicine to complain about a local vet who should have retired years ago. I just posted a tribute in Crossing The Bridge for my mother's cat, Misty who died this past Tuesday at the hands of this vet. This is not the first animal that this vet has screwed up on (I can name several).

Has anyone ever complained to a board and what was the outcome?

Yes I have, in Maryland. (This was 12 years ago.) I've dealt with many vets over my 50 years, some were better and some were worse. There are decisions I've second guessed and things I've had concerns about, but on no other occasion did I find such blatent malpractice. Basically, though I had a very legitimate complaint, the board did nothing. I hope your experience is better.
