Litter Recommendation

Hi,
I am using a clumping cat litter called "Litter Secret".
The lady in the petshop said is the best litter around (???).
I am not too satisfied as the roundish grain is EVERYWHERE (it falls out when the kitten gets out of the box and then it will roll everywhere. additonally i carry it around the house by stepping on it and dragging it to the other rooms). it is so anoying. I need to clean everyday.
The litter also has a slight scent which really stinks in combination with the urine.
and it's quite expensive (7-8 singapore dollars per bag/ approx 3.5-4 euros). It's used up so fast (think my cat is a big-time pisser )

The kitty is still young and I think a change of litter is not a big prob to her. I just don't know what is best type. Personally I'd prefer something that close to natural like wood or paper and something that isn't all over the house.

Any ideas?

I'd also need cleaning instructions then, coz rite now I am just declumping the box everyday, whcih is fairly easy, but what do I do, when the pee doesn't form clumps???

Thanks

Hi,
i use fussy pussy wood based litter but im in uk so not sure if you can get that there. Some of it does spill out when the litters being used but its not to bad and I dont think there will be a litter thats completely mess free(please correct me if Im wrong) I just remove the number 2's everytime there is one and change the litter completely every few days. If you remove the number 2's it doesnt smell very bad at all.

I use a clumping litter. Clinton piddles a lot, and i like being able to clean the urine clumps out. I had a pellet litter for him after his neuter and he hated it! He's a big digger and the pellets really frustrated him. He would try and eat them, and since the holes he dug wouldn't stay put he would sometime's skip doing his #2 for the day. He does well with the clumping litter, and I like him being comfortable, so I just vacuum a lot more. I also add a baking soda litter treatment to the box as well (Nature's Miracle makes one here). It seems to help neutralize the urine smell and keep things nice and fresh.

Good luck!

i can imagine wood smelling nice, but what about the mess?? does it cling to the cat until it drops somewhere around the house??

does anybody have expereince with these pressed paper pellets?

I'm not a big fan of the paper type litter, I find it gets all over the house.

I don't really know how you describe the type of litter that I use but it's kind of like little white rocks.

I used feline pine for the longest time and the kitties would use that mixed with a korean brand and liked it. It smelled like pine when they peed And would break down so you could use it for your plants. It did not get tracked everywhere either. IT just got too costly to keep having them mail here so I switched to the cheap junk for now.
